New Competition
Competition meetings are added by an overall system administrator via the Tools -> Setup Meetings screen. When selected the administrator must fill in the Identity section and may optionally fill in the other sections.
-
Identity - the Identity information is editable only by system administrators and contains the primary listing information as follows:
Full Name - the competition full name as used on the index page and in screen titles/breadcrumbs;
Meeting Date - the competition date;
Meeting Code - the slug used in URLs. Note that this typically should not be changed after competition creation to avoid confusing external systems/apps;
Meeting Type - Regatta, Head Race or Regatta with Time Trial as appropriate;
UUID - an internal identifier. This is usually left blank and is thus automatically assigned by the system.
-
Public Visibility - controls specifying what is visible to the public
Visible to Public - if true then specific competition information is visible to the general public without authentication. Note that only standard information that would be visible in a draw/results is ever made available to the unauthenticated public.
Overall Lifecycle Stage - this specifies the competition lifecycle and hence controls what public visible information is exported. Key values are: In Planning to specify that all information is currently only visible to competition administrators; Draw Published when the draw is available for the general public to see; Provisional Results when racing progress and initial results are visible to the general public; Full Results when the results have been initially checked and prizes have been allocated; Final Results when results have been fully checked and are ready for submission to British Rowing via BROE.
Individual Division Lifecycle Stage - the per-division lifecycle that mirrors the overall lifecycle but for an individual division. Note that the lower of overall and individual value is used when deciding what information to show on a per-division basis.
-
Staff Visibility - controls what information is available to authenticated staff.
Draw Complete - when ticked this signals that the draw is not expected to change and is a pre-requisite for external software to be able to see timing details.
Meeting Archived - when ticked this signals that the meeting is no longer active and external software/apps removes the competition from default visibility.
Results Open - when ticked external software can see the competition, or divisions in the list of available timing divisions.
Results Final - when ticked the system will no longer accept timing updates from external apps.
The Results Open and Results Final flags are available both on a whole competition meeting and per-timing division basis.
Default Staff Permissions - These form part of the access control permissions system and generally should never be changed.
